The Sky Tower in Auckland was among eight New Zealand landmarks glowing pink last night for the start of breast cancer awareness month.
Seventy-two large lightbulbs at the tower were changed yesterday by Lional Woodall and his team from maintenance company TRS, who spent seven hours 300m up ensuring the landmark blushed pink. The pink glow is part of the International Global Illumination Campaign promoting breast cancer awareness around the world.
Monuments in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill join landmarks in over 40 countries, including the Sydney Opera House, the Empire State Building and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
