The Sky Tower will be lit up tonight in celebration of its 18th birthday.
The iconic Auckland feature was built in 1997 - an engineering feat constructed out of masses of concrete, 2000 tonnes of reinforcing steel and 260 panes of glass.
It is New Zealand's tallest man-made structure and is frequently lit up to mark milestones, national holidays and other special events.
