The fantasy of a fun park in the sky over Auckland is the inspiration for the latest work by 3D illusionist artist Edgar Mueller.
Mueller opened the work in Newmarket this week and told NZ Herald Focus that he could not explain where the idea for a merry-go-round in the sky came from.
"It's always like I have some ideas and then I find an idea and say 'oh ok, that's it'. That's how it works."
The work took five days and about 40 litres of paint to create, Mueller said.
It is on display at 130 Broadway in Newmarket until Sunday.
