A man who shoulder-charged a teenager at an Auckland skate park has been convicted and put on a nine-month good behaviour bond.
The incident in March involving Craig Anthony Platt, 48, was caught on film and was widely viewed on social media.
In the video he was seen shoulder-charging a teenager at a skating competition at Victoria Park and then later grabbing a man, Leighton Dyer, around the neck.
Platt originally faced one charge over the assault of the 15-year-old boy at the park on March 25 but police laid a second charge against him for assaulting Mr Dyer at the same event.
Platt pleaded guilty to both charges in May and was sentenced yesterday in Auckland District Court.
