A teenager who was killed when he was struck by a train outside Christchurch yesterday has been named as Jayden John Smith.
The 16-year-old from Christchurch was hit by at a railway crossing on Factory Rd, close to Belfast, about 8.50pm.
He had been walking with friends at the time.
Jayden's two friends - a boy and a girl - crossed the railway line, but he was struck by a northbound freight train, Detective Sergeant Richard Quested said earlier.
Enquiries into his death have continued today, including interviewing witnesses and the friends who were with him.
