Six teams up for Cups

Six teams will be contesting the Umpires Cup limited-overs and Bidwell Cup two-day senior men's inter-club cricket competitions in Wairarapa over the 2007-08 season.
As usual they include the two colleges, Wairarapa College and Rathkeale College, along with Academy, Greytown, Red Star and Lansdowne.
Venues are still to be confirmed for the opening round of Umpires Cup games on Saturday, October 13 but the draw has Lansdowne playing Red Star, Greytown playing Wairarapa College and Academy up against Rathkeale College.
All but Academy of those teams will have earlier taken part in a Twenty20 pre-season tournament on October 6.
Umpires Cup matches will also be played on October 20 and 27 with the first of the Bidwell Cup fixtures drawn for November 3 and 10. Opening games there will be Red Star v Greytown, Wairarapa College v Academy and Rathkeale College v Lansdowne.
