Sisters make tri-series cut

Emerging tennis players Sade and Georgia Atkinson have received further boosts to their evolving careers.
Sade has been named in the 14-year girls Tennis Central Region team while sister Georgia has been selected in the 12-year girls team.
They will compete in a tri-series in Wellington on October 9-10, which includes age group teams from Waikato and Northern Tennis. This is Sade's third year at the tournament and Georgia's second.
The girls will have a good warm-up for this tri-series when they compete at the Wanganui Junior Open Tennis tournament during the second week of the upcoming school holidays.
Meanwhile, Masterton-based tennis player Marcus Daniell has just returned to training after a long-term injury. Daniell is in Bangkok supporting the New Zealand Davis Cup team, which defeated Thailand.
Daniell is due to represent New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games but participation there will depend on the rate of recovery and form.
