High-profile New Zealand scientist Sir Paul Callaghan will be farewelled at a funeral in Wellington today.
Sir Paul died at his Wellington home on Saturday, aged 64, after a long battle with bowel cancer.
The New Zealander of the Year created a name for himself in the world of molecular physics.
His funeral will be at Wesley Methodist Church on Taranaki Street at 1pm today.
Due the to the overwhelming number of mourners expected to attend, Victoria University said it would have a live webcast of his funeral broadcast at the university.
