The city of Hamilton has a new mayor this morning after the sudden resignation of first-termer Michael Redman on Tuesday. He is Bob Simcock, who was the city's deputy mayor.
Hamilton's new deputy mayor is Pippa Mahood, a former city councillor. Mr Redman indicated he would step down last week after announcing he would take up the role of Hamilton City Council chief executive from July 1.
