Signs of the times

Motorists on Auckland's congested motorways are to get a new service giving them more information to make decisions about their travel.

The New Zealand Transport Agency says that 250 electronic message signs at approaches to motorway on-ramps will begin to be commissioned from today.

The signs will show three key destinations and the estimated time to get to them. The estimates are designed to be accurate to within four minutes for a typical 25-minute journey.
