Wellington commuters have been delayed for about an hour this morning, after a signal failure on a section of the main trunk line between Porirua and Wellington.
"Services are losing about 60 minutes, but it's slowly getting better," a TranzRail employee, who declined to be named, said.
He said the situation had partially been rectified, "but we don't know when it's going to be fixed".
