Each week I collect links I'd like to share with my eight-year-old. Here are my picks this week

1) Do you remember the Disney animation

The Little House

? The story of a house that was once alone on a hill but is eventually crowded out by other buildings. The author claimed it wasn't a comment on urban sprawl, just showing the passing of time for children, but I think there was an adult theme in there for sure.

2) Here's a must-see animation from French TV, explaining beautifully why the

3) We actually tried the

Biscuit Face Race

. It was great fun with crumbs everywhere, try videoing and watching it back.

Nostalgic kids TV:

Controversy:

Breast feeding is always in the headlines; usually when some strumpet has been flashing her bosoms around the local café while feeding her baby. Those that forget we are mammals and complain about it will no doubt have something to say about the new doll that lets kids pretend they are breastfeeding.

The Breast Milk Baby

comes with a halter top that activates a suckling response from the doll when placed in contact with the chest area. (Watch the ad at the bottom of the link). Critics say the doll sexualises young girls or may encourage early pregnancy, but more sensible people would see it for what it is - a child roleplaying her mother. Right? What do you think?
