Reuben was driving from Auckland to Thames at the weekend and spotted this roadside sign on State Highway 25. "I couldn't quite figure out if it is referring to something specific or perhaps it's just friendly advice," he says.
Long haul, empty stomach
Mark writes: "Being a little bit of a traveller the latest Air New Zealand advert caught my eye. They are currently advertising flights to Honolulu from $480 one way. I was amazed to discover Air NZ have adopted the 'seats to suit' model designed for Tasman flights of three to four hours and applied it to international flights to the United States. I wonder how many people will buy the $480 ticket for a seat or $510 seat+bag ticket, and endure an 8 hours 45 minutes or 9 hours 25 minutes flight without a meal as standard? I guess this is why the company is making record profits? I'll stick with Emirates or Cathay Pacific thanks!"
Might need a doggy bag, or several ...
Mexico City has given new meaning to "the whole enchilada". The Mexican capital has broken its own record with an 85m-long enchilada. Restaurants from the humble neighbourhood of Iztapalapa created the giant meal to celebrate Mexican tradition and culture. Jesus Valencia from the Iztapalapa Municipality explained the event would help "promote family life and boost the economy". (via: Telegraph Group Ltd)
