A reader writes: "So the 6-year-olds in my partner's class are having an impromptu discussion about where we came from. One of the kids said: 'Well some people believe we come from monkeys and some people think we were made by God.' With that another put up her hand and said emphatically 'I know that we were definitely made by God ... because I have seen a photo of my mum when she was pregnant, and she definitely wasn't a monkey'."
Dirty cowboy banned
The Annville-Cleona, Pennsylvania school board removed the award-winning children's book The Dirty Cowboy from elementary school libraries after one parent complained. The book tells the story of a cowboy who takes a bath in a river then finds his dog, which no longer recognises him, won't let him have his clothes back. The parent complained that the cowboy is depicted as being nude, though various objects always cover his genitals. (Source: Reason.com)
