A man is in hot water after allegedly stealing a bicycle, pitching it through a Berlin restaurant window, then entering and quaffing half a bottle of Tabasco sauce - telling authorities he was thirsty. Police spokesman Jens Berger said the 34-year-old was intoxicated, but it wasn't clear why he went for the bottle of Tabasco to quench his thirst. He says the man may have mistaken it for a tiny bottle of liqueur, popular in Germany.
Dining out on kind act
Reader Joanne Mitchell writes: "A big thank you for the random act of kindness last night during pouring rain. The owner of The Little Local bakery and cafe at 1 Ayr St, Parnell, pressed a generous bag of gourmet quiches and pies into my hand as I walked past because she didn't want to waste them. It was a feast that solved that night's dinner dilemma and a reminder that there are really nice people out there."
Beast mum
"Attached is a small note that my son, who has some special needs, wrote and left on the kitchen table for my wife to find. He has nothing but love for his mother and wanted to express it," writes Barry.
