4. One-upmanship. You say something and the other person just HAS to top it. I'm sorry, are we having a conversation or a competition?
5. Subtle self-righteousness. It's the difference between "I'm sorry you got upset" and "I'm sorry I upset you", for example.
6. People who always need to steer the conversation back to them, and use their life experiences to assert that they're an expert at everything.
7. Constant judgment of others.
8. People that are too nice. I hate it when people tend to always see the positive things and never bitch about stuff.
9. The corrector. There is always that person who has to correct someone on something.
10. Interrupters.
Looking for remote work?
The world's most remote inhabited archipelago, Tristan de Cunha, is looking for a farmer to join the other 256 residents. These islands are in the south Atlantic Ocean, 2400km from South Africa and 3360km from South America. The tiny village of Edinburgh of the Seven Seas want a farmer who can help develop livestock and agriculture thus reduce their reliance on imported food. The farming job was advertised on the National Farmers' Union website, and says, "The island has approximately 1000 acres (400ha) of poor grazing land for 300 cattle and 500 sheep. The community produces potatoes in family-run allotments, but intend to harvest fruits, vegetables and other crops to reduce its reliance on imported foodstuffs." If you do get the job, expect to stay at least two years, which shouldn't be hard since just nine ships make their way to the island from South Africa each year.
A reader writes: "You will probably get loads of photos in regards to the oldest water cylinder. Here is ours: 9 November 1939. The plumber who removed it said that he had never seen anything that old and as that flat was built in 1981 we thought the usual until we saw the label."
