A teenager was airlifted out of the Nelson Lakes National Park today after suffering breathing difficulties while tramping with a school group.
The 15-year-old was tramping the Mole track with two teachers and 27 other students from Nelson Boys' College when he started having breathing problems.
The group activated a beacon at 3.20pm, and the Summit Rescue Helicopter found them near the Bull River.
After being assessed by a paramedic, the boy was winched from the river then flown to Nelson hospital.
