KEY POINTS:
A sailor with diabetic complications has been winched from his yacht off the Hawke's Bay coast and flown to hospital for treatment.
The Lowe Corporation rescue helicopter was called about 8am to help the man whose yacht was becalmed and suffering engine problems about 100km of the coast from Napier.
Other crew members remained on board to bring the yacht back to port.
