A Napier police constable is claiming his stab-resistant body armour and new police shirt led to him developing kidney stones.
Grant Marshall said in a letter to the Police Association magazine: "Because [the shirts] are designed to 'wick' the sweat away from the body, it works against our body's natural cooling process."
He encouraged his colleagues to drink water regularly and take off the body armour as often as possible.
