KEY POINTS:
Danielle Ornelas and other young Aucklanders stood on Mt Hobson yesterday holding 18 crosses to represent children who have died from family violence in the past four years.
The protest was prompted by the Herald's Our Lost Children series, said organiser Don Matheson.
He hoped the crosses would be seen from the Southern Motorway. "We want to keep up awareness of the violence against very young children."
Ms Ornelas, of the Young & Prolife group, said the crosses also represented aborted unborn children - the group wanted people to realise life was sacred.
