Police are searching for a carload of offenders who fired several shotgun rounds at a Northland house on Christmas Eve.
Police said the shots were fired into the front door of the Okaihau house about 8.15pm on Friday night.
Police said it was very lucky no-one was seriously injured or killed, and they were treating the incident as an attempted homicide.
They are seeking a blue Toyota Hilux Surf with the registration AKW941.
The occupants of the car were considered dangerous, and should not be approached, police said.
Meanwhile, an Auckland man who was staying at the house has been arrested over the robbery of the Okaihau bottle store the same night as the shooting.
Police said they were confident of arresting a female accomplice in relation to the bottle store robbery.
