Shotover Jet Ltd has suspended operations after five people were injured in an incident involving a jetboat near Queenstown this afternoon.
The incident happened on the Shotover River about 3pm and five people have been transferred to the Lakes District Hospital, a Shotover Jet Ltd spokesperson said. The nature of their injuries were not known.
Emergency services and the Queenstown Lakes harbourmaster were at the scene within minutes of the incident and Shotover Jet immediately suspended operations, the statement said.
Shotover Jet management was in the process of confirming further details and was working closely with the harbourmaster and other relevant authorities.
