Senior Constable Bruce Miller, who was seriously wounded in the Napier siege a year ago, has won the North Island Police Golf Tournament at Stratford.
Maraenui Golf Club champion Miller recorded scores of 77, 83, 76 and 74 over three days at Stratford, taking him to the top of the field of 124 players, Police News magazine reported.
Mr Miller was shot from behind through the groin and left thigh by Jan Molenaar at the start of the Napier Hill siege.
Senior Constable Len Snee was killed by Molenaar, who was later found dead in his house with a single gunshot wound.
Senior Constable Grant Diver was also seriously injured when shot in the left lower back and buttock.
Mr Diver caddied for Mr Miller over nine holes with Prime Minister John Key in February.
Mr Key had promised the golf-mad officers a game when he visited them in hospital last year.
