A man shot in the back at close range near Hastings is not co-operating and police say they want help from the public to find out what happened.
A police spokesman said the 29-year-old Hell's Angels biker showed up at a Poukawa farm on Saturday night, saying he had been shot.
He was taken to hospital for emergency surgery to remove shotgun pellets from his abdomen. He had been shot in the lower back at close range.
Police said he was in a stable condition but they had received minimal co-operation from him and had not established the nature and location of the shooting.
