The proposed circuit for the V8 streetcar race in Hamilton in 2008 has been shortened from 4km to 3.4km to avoid many residential properties around Seddon Park.
The track will still go past the frontage of Seddon Park on Norton Rd but will not go round the park, according to John Olliver - of consulting engineers Bloxam, Burnett and Olliver - which is managing the resource consent application for the Hamilton City Council.
Mr Olliver said he expected the resource consent to be lodged in June.
A decision is expected in September from the independent commissioner hearing the application.
Residents, businesses and property owners in the vicinity of the circuit are being contacted with updated information on the circuit.
They are being encouraged to attend information days on May 10 and May 11 at the Hamilton Workingmen's Club pavilion in Frankton.
The pit-lane garages would be on the southern side of Mill St, opposite the Waikato Stadium number two ground.
A final decision on how the pit lanes will be configured is still to be made.
