Police spent this morning mapping the area where a man was shot by police on Te Ngae Rd earlier this week.
A section of Te Ngae Rd was closed while drivers were diverted down Vaughan and Marino Rds.
District command centre Senior Sergeant Karl Konlechner said the mapping was part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.
"They measure distances and map out the scene, it's part of the scene investigation. We do it for all major crashes and other serious incidents."
The 35-year-old man was shot twice in the stomach on Te Ngae Rd on Thursday after he was seen wielding a slasher.
