New Zealand's Des Coe finished a disappointing 25th - and last - in the qualifying round of the Olympic double trap shoot at Sydney's Cecil Park range on Wednesday.
Coe's three round score of 118 trailed the field, led by defending Olympic champion Russell Mark of Australia who tallied 143 from a possible 150.
However, Britain's Richard Faulds beat Mark in a shoot-off to win the gold medal after both shooters finished the final on 187 points.
Fehaid Al Deehani from Kuwait won the bronze medal.
