Shoes lead to skeleton in bush

A human skeleton has been found in a forestry block 30km south of Gisborne after two forestry workers noticed a pair of shoes in the bush.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Scott said the workers discovered the skeleton last Tuesday.

A post-mortem will be carried out to determine the skeleton's age and sex.
