Notorious DJ Iain Stables will be back on-air at Radio Hauraki next month and his new bosses at The Radio Network are bracing for a wild ride.
And it's not just business bringing him back to Auckland - Woman's Day editor Sarah Henry has confirmed Stables is the father of her unborn child.
The disk jockey is famous for his live pranks landing him in hot water - during his career he has been sued for defamation, fired from "countless" radio stations and convicted for impersonating a detective from Interpol.
These on-air antics earned Stables high ratings and the title "best non-breakfast host" at the 2007 Radio Awards.
Stables was put on extended leave from his presenter role at ZM after he said the radio awards were "the most PC, non-entertaining thing I've been at in ages".
The station cut all ties with Stables soon after.
He said he was looking forward to pulling pranks at next year's Rugby World Cup. "During the America's Cup we put the rustiest, ugliest trawler out among the super yachts with 25 naked students on board.
"The eyes of the world were on New Zealand and that's what they saw," he said.
"I think people take life too seriously. The good thing about these big media companies is they have team of legal professionals who are there to clean up the mess."
The new Radio Hauraki breakfast line-up is confirmed. Leading the show will be Nick Trott, to be heard on air nationally after an absence of four years. Also joining current host Dean Young will be newsreader Melanie Homer.
