Two Canterbury soldiers are seeking diversion after being caught killing a sheep.
Hone Tangihaere Hughes, a 17-year-old from Burnham, and Te Mana I Whakahokiamai Te Koi, 26, of Rolleston, are charged with killing a sheep worth $350 on Wednesday with intent to steal its carcass, the Christchurch Court News website reported.
They were granted registrar's remands at Christchurch District Court today and are due back in court on November 26 unless police approve diversion.
