A shed at a poultry factory on the outskirts of Levin was engulfed in flames this morning.
A Fire Service spokesman said they received a call about the fire on Hamaria Rd shortly after 9.30am.
The shed at a poultry processing factory was burning fiercely when firefighters arrived.
The factory itself was not threatened.
The spokesman did not know whether any chickens were in the shed.
