Southern Hawke's Bay shearer Rodney Sutton broke the world solo nine-hour strongwool ewe-shearing record in a King Country woolshed yesterday - by a solitary sheep.
He dragged sheep number 721 on to the board in front of about 250 supporters a few seconds before 5pm to break the mark set by Southlander Darin Forde 10 years ago.
