Shearing champion returns

HAWKE'S BAY: Waipawa got the chance to welcome home world shearing champion Cam Ferguson on Friday night.

However, the 27-year-old father-of-three, who has been back in town less than a week, heads to the South Island to work today.

The winner of the World Championship final in Wales on July 21 has a busy time ahead preparing for the opening of the new domestic competition season opens at the end of the month, and he'll defend his Golden Shears open title in March.
