A top Hamilton radio station has edged its way into the packed Auckland market.
The Edge is expected to begin broadcasting this month on the frequency now used by Channel Z.
Channel Z will move to 89.8FM, a frequency previously used by Waiheke Island station The Beach.
The station has announced a revamped line-up from Monday.
The changes include replacing the breakfast team of Jon Bridges and Nathan Rarere with James Coleman and Jacqui Brown, who quit last year as a host of TV2's Space show.
CanWest would not comment on its plans for The Edge, saying an announcement would be made on Monday.
CanWest was seeking radio frequencies in Auckland in exchange for leasing the VHF signal, used by TV4, to the Maori Television Service.
However, the Government this week decided the television service would be broadcast on a UHF network.
