The quality of wood chopping and sawing at the Wairarapa A&P Show at Clareville on November 1-2 will reach world class standards.
A bold statement to make but how can it be anything else when you consider the calibre of the fields which will be lining up there.
The two full days of competition has drawn entries from Auckland, Thames, Rotorua, Taranaki, Manawatu-Rangitikei, Otaki, Upper Hutt and Masterton.
All three of the woodchoppers included in the New Zealand team to compete at the world championships in Austria next month, Jason Wynyard (Auckland), Kyle Lemon (Rotorua) and Mook Hohneck (Rotorua), will be attending a training camp in Masterton on October 31 and will then compete at Clareville over the next two days.
New Zealand have a proud record to defend in Austria, having won the world title three times in the past four years, including 2013.
