Carterton Golf Club results for April 20 to 23:
Women: Wednesday was a medal round for the Aoteoroa/Coronation Medal/LGU. There was a good turnout of 31 players. Leading the field with nett 69 was Nadine Jensen; following closely were Jennifer Ramsden, Katie Smart and Corrie Van Zanten all with 70; next in line were Alison Bodle, Bev Tregurtha and Bernice Parker with 71, Barbara Birchall 72 and Janet Pincock 73. There was a single two scored by Alison Bodle on #12. New World NTP #17 Sue Ross, All Teed Up NTP #16 Flo Watkins and Clareville Nursery NTP Lyn Andrews. Nadine Jensen's card of nett 69 will be an entry in the Aoteoroa Cup National Vets Competition.
Date to remember: Wednesday, May 4, will be the Carterton Women's Open Day. Tee Off at 10am.
Saturday was a further round of the Aoteoroa Cup. First, with nett 68, were Margaret Bradshaw and Christine Taylor, followed by Wendy Rhodes 70, Janet Pincock, Sue Braiden and Emma Morris all with 72 and Ngaire Taylor with 73.
EV's Bar NTP Wendy Rhodes, it could not have been much closer as her shot went into the hole! All Teed Up NTP Vicki Bain and Devine Café NTP Shirley Carew.
Men: Saturday was the third and last round of the Tararua Cup. The competition on the day was split into two divisions. Division one (0 to 18) was won by Cameron Coutts with 40 points, followed by Fraser Smith 39, Lyn Evans and Jason Sadler 37, Eric Collings, David Sadler, Allan Heffer, John Lett, Bevan Lambess and Dean Schaef all with 36.
Division two was led by Peter Woodcock and Keith Williams with a very creditable 44 points, they were followed by Ray Morris 42, Ralph Day and Frank Delaney 40, Wal McKnight 39 and Peter Cottier 37, who won on a count-back from Toby Hempleman and Chris Connor.
EV's Bar NTP Ralph Day, Royal Oak NTP Wal McKnight, Snake Eyes was dead eye Ralph Day All Teed Up #16 Jason Sadler. Twos were scored by Eric Collings, Frank Delaney, Mark Graham, Sarah Haskell, Tony McCarthy, Wal McKnight, Dean Schaef, Fraser Smith (two), Wayne Taylor and Wendy Rhodes. Slim pickings with so many sharing the winnings.
The Tararua Trophy was shared by George Rink and Frank Delaney with a total for the best two rounds of 85. Next in line, one point short, was Russ Sadler with 84, followed by Ralph Day and Duncan Pincock 82, Lyn Evans and Toby Hempleman 79, Eric Collings and Tony McCarthy 78.
