Shallow quake hits near Mt Cook

A shallow magnitude 4.1 quake shook Aoraki-Mt Cook shortly before midday.

GNS Science said the 5km deep quake struck 20km northeast of Mt Cook at 11.54am.

It was felt in Fox Glacier and as far as Christchurch.
