State Highway 7 has been reopened between Greymouth and Reefton this evening after being temporarily closed for about three hours.
It was closed between 3.55pm and 6.55pm due to a police operation where they responded to reports of a firearm being discharged in the area.
The closure occurred near the intersection with Granville Rd and a detour was put in place via Taylorville Rd, Taylorville-Blackball Rd and Atarau Rd.
The NZ Transport Agency thanked motorists in the area for their patience while the incident was resolved.
