State Highway One has been reopened following a serious crash involving a car and a pedestrian this afternoon.
The pedestrian was seriously injured and taken to Palmerston North Hospital this evening after the crash, which happened by the Otaki roundabout.
"Initial reports indicate it involved at least one vehicle and
a pedestrian. The pedestrian has been taken to hospital in a serious condition," a police spokesperson said.
The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating what happened.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash about 4pm today to get in touch with their nearest police station.
