KEY POINTS:
Police have re-opened State Highway One after a car crashed into a power pole just north of Paekakariki.
The highway was closed in both directions during rush hour this morning.
The highway has now been reopened but the speed limit has been reduced to 30km an hour in both directions while the power pole has is being repaired.
Sergeant Andy Dow said this morning that one person had been taken to hospital.
