A two kilometre-long diesel spill closed State Highway One north of Auckland this evening, but the road has now been re-opened.
Police said the one-metre-wide spill began south of the Dome Valley rest area and continued for two kilometres along the road.
The road was closed while contractors clean up the spill, but re-opened at about 7.30pm.
