An under-age boy "snuck out his window" to have sex with a mother of three in her 20s, a court heard during a jury trial.
The revelation was made in the Whangarei District Court yesterday, where the 27-year-old woman faced two charges of having a sexual connection with a person between the ages of 12 and 16. The alleged offences occurred when the boy was 14, sometime between 2006-2007, at the woman's Northland home.
Giving evidence at the start of a three-day trial, the boy said the woman had an affair with his elder brother and that he was quite keen to "get in the act and have a bit of fun".
The boy said the woman had sent him text messages and initiated sex each time he went to her bedroom.
The woman's husband and children were asleep when they had sex, usually between 11pm-1am, after he had "snuck out of home through a window".
He said he told her on several occasions it was dangerous to have sex because she was having an affair with his brother and her husband might wake. She had initiated physical contact by kissing him after pinning him to the floor beside her bedroom.
He said he was shocked to be kissed and did not proceed any further because he thought it was wrong. However, they later had sex.
On one occasion he was caught by his brother who walked in. The brothers later had an argument and they fought.
About a week after the woman texted him to say she and his brother had broken up and he saw her four more times.
He said the woman cried before he left the region, saying how much she loved him and would miss him.
The boy's brother and the officer in charge are the other Crown witnesses.
Earlier, Crown prosecutor Anna Patterson told the jury of seven men and five women that although the specific date and time of the incidents were not known, they had to be sure it happened at least once.
