A convicted sex offender who was jailed in September on his fifth breach of release conditions has been released back into the community and will be subject to GPS tracking.
Stephen George Rainham, 42, appeared before Judge Ian Mill on Thursday when Community Corrections withdrew the last breach charge. Rainham was jailed for two years and eight months in 2009 on charges of unlawful sexual connection with a girl aged between 12 and 16 and sexual grooming charges.
On his release Rainham was subject to an extended supervision order and within weeks of release was recalled to jail for nine months for breaching post-release conditions by having access to the internet.
The extended supervision order was renewed and is due to expire in May 2019.
In May this year he breached release conditions again and was sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence.
