KEY POINTS:
About half of the seven offensive billboards advertising a remedy for male sexual dysfunction have been pulled down in Auckland.
APN Outdoor's general manager, Phil Clemas, said yesterday that a few of the billboards had been removed as requested by the Advertising Standards Authority, and others would follow.
The last to go was expected to be the one on the Parnell rail overbridge, which could not be removed until Sunday because permission was required to access that site.
The billboards had featured the words "Want Longer Lasting Sex?" which upset some Aucklanders, particularly the Pacific Island community.
The ASA ruled them offensive, and the Australian client had considered modifying them, Mr Clemas said.
But after further talks with the ASA it decided to proceed to remove them.
