Greymouth police have appealed for help from the public to identify a man who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a young woman in the Dixon Park children's playground overnight.
The victim and a friend were at the park about 1am when they were approached by a man who allegedly one of the women before fleeing.
Anyone with information about the incident, or able to help identify the culprit, should contact constable Brett Currie at the Greymouth police station.
