The man accused of a sex attack on a 99-year-old woman lived a few doors along from his alleged victim.
Glen Patrick Walsh, 20, unemployed, appeared in Palmerston North District Court on Thursday facing two new charges of indecent assault and assault to add to one of burglary.
Police were called to the elderly woman's home in suburban Roslyn home after neighbours heard screams about 2am on November 13.
She had woken to find a unidentified man inside her house and is believed to have struggled with him until will police arrived.
She received cuts and bruises and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Court records showed the man lives a few doors down from the woman in the same street, the Manawatu Standard reported.
Walsh has been remanded on bail to an address outside of Palmerston North until a depositions hearing on December 22.
