A wet weekend will end this week's sunshine for much of the country, according to the MetService. It posted a severe weather watch yesterday afternoon. Today a low is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain from Northland and this weather is expected to spread to the northern tip of the South Island. The rain and gales are expected to last until at least Monday.
