A woman in her 60s has suffered serious head and spinal injuries after a cyclist collided with her in Christchurch this evening.
Police said a male cyclist in his 20s was travelling west on Papanui Rd when he collided with the woman about 5.30pm.
The woman suffered severe head and spinal injuries, police said.
Police are also seeking witnesses to the collision, which occurred near the pedestrian crossing outside Merivale Mall on Papanui Rd.
"The cyclist stopped and is cooperating with police, however police are still seeking more witnesses to what happened," police said in a statement.
