Seven people were treated but escaped serious injury after fire engulfed a Waikato garage this afternoon.
Emergency services were called about to a property on Totara St in Putaruru, south-east of Hamilton, about 3pm, a Fire Service spokesman said.
The burning garage was next to a house which firefighters were working hard to protect.
Paramedics were treating seven patients at the scene but no-one had to be transported to hospital, the spokesman said.
"Fortunately they all made it out safely."
