Seven-day vet expansion in Masterton

A new development in Te Ore Ore Rd in Masterton will see a much expanded Keinzley Agvet store which will include a seven-day vet clinic.

Owner Phil Keinzley confirmed he has bought the premises he had been leasing from Garry Daniell and has obtained building permits allowing for a much larger business to be built on the site.

"It will be of a similar size to our Carterton store."

Wairarapa Concrete Ltd will shift back from its Te Ore Ore Rd frontage to land behind the site.

Mr Keinzley said the vet clinic would be staffed each day of the week.

Large animal vets already work out of Masterton but the business expansion will mean employing another vet and the likelihood of yet another "in the future".

Apart from the vet clinic the Te Ore Ore store will be stocked with a much larger range of goods, a factor Mr Keinzley said had partly been driven by greater demand, particularly from hobby farmers and lifestyle block owners in rural Masterton.

Mr Keinzley said certificate of title is yet to be received for the land purchase but he is expected that to be available within a few days. The store will cover 2400sqm.

He said it is expected to be about four months before the expanded business is up and running. Keinzley Agvet also has stores in Eketahuna and Martinborough.
